4. The Newcomer's
Club monthly newsletter is hand delivered at our home visit and
e-mailed to all members of the Valdosta Newcomers Club
. The newsletter provides a listing of each business that participates
with the Valdosta Greeting Service and has a featured business
highlighted each month. The Newcomers are encouraged to visit each
business that is listed. At the monthly general meeting we have a door
prize [provided to us by a Valdosta Greeting Service vendor] for the
newcomer who has the most receipts obtained from visiting the
businesses listed in the newsletter.
5. The Valdosta
Greeting Service presents a
welcome packet to M.A.F.B. student pilots at their initial briefing.
The briefing is their first exposure to the community. This is an
excellent opportunity to present your business to these new
students. In addition to the student pilots, we also present
a
welcome packet to the Moody AFB dorm residents.

You have the opportunity to participate in our Internet package, which
provides you with additional Internet advertising. Your
business will
be briefly described and highlighted as a featured business on our
website. In addition to linking your website, a locator map
can also
be printed by the new resident. If you desire a website, our
computer
specialist can design one for you for a reasonable fee. Our
website is linked with the Chamber of Commerce
, the City
of Valdosta
,
and Air
Force Crossroads
. This will
provide you with additional exposure and links to primary sites that
future newcomers review before moving to Valdosta. This will allow a
potential new resident first time exposure to your company through the
Valdosta Greeting Service website.
7. We feel that
community support for newcomers is very important. Being associated
with the Valdosta Greeting Service demonstrates your willingness to
support newcomers that move into the Valdosta / Lowndes County area.
